The Center for Computational Imaging (CCI) at IIT Palakkad is an interdisciplinary center that is engaged in pushing the frontiers in all aspects of imaging - sensing and image acquistion, processing and visualization, and acceleration. The center aims to synergize research across several layers of the computational system to identify new opportunities for improvements.
The main objectives of the CCI are as follows:
Sensors/Antenna
Supports design, simulation, fabrication and testing of novel sensing systems such as miniaturized ultrasonic, optical, physiological sensors and radio frequency antenna.
Computational Software
Supports research, design and development of novel data acquisition systems, signal conditioning algorithms, image reconstruction and analysis algorithms and computer aided diagnostics and prognostics.
Hardware Acceleration
Supports exploration of hardware acceleration using field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), multi-core central processing units (CPUs) and graphical processing units (GPUs).
